Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins should soon become one of the best paid players in the NFL. There is speculation that he would receive a contract worth $ 20 million annually.
Cousins this season threw 3,540 yards and 20 touchdowns with seven interceptions and fumbles.
On Thursday, he broke a record for Thanksgiving with 449 yards and 41 completions in the defeat from Dallas 31-26 (three touchdowns).
Redskins are now standing at 6-4, but were defeated only twice in the last eight games, so it would not be a surprise if they get a place in the playoffs.
If they manage to secure a playoff spot, it would be the first time since 1992 that Washington will do that two seasons in a row. The Redskins will have to open the bag to keep Cousins because the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and Chicago Bears, all of which are QB needy teams are in good salary cap space.
However it unfolds, with Redskins or not, Cousins is scheduled to be a rich man next year.
